MK Festival Fringe: Pitch

This year I was selected to run an event in a tent as part of MK Festival Fringe's Pitch project during the amazing MKFF.
My workshop was in Mapmaking, where passers by were invited to draw individual maps to add to the tent installation. The hand drawn map could be of anywhere or anything, real or imaginary.
I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the workshop having had positive comments from everyone who took part across the two days. My favourite bit was seeing the variety of maps from everyone! They varied so much with drawings of places visited around the world, favourite trees, mind maps, journey to school, the island of inflatable imagination, treasure maps and many more.
The workshop was popular with people of all ages, with children as young as two explaining what their drawings represent. Adults also enjoyed coming up with mapping ideas and different ways to represent travels, places they've lived, experiences and more.
A massive thank you to everyone who came along and to MK Festival Fringe for having me! Here are a few photos from the day. More can be seen on my Kate Harrison Art Facebook page.
